History
INDUS Road & Bridge was established in February 2013 in Dallas, TX, by entrepreneurs Berry Assefa and Amjad Jaber, with the vision of becoming the most trusted subcontractor for multinational heavy civil general contractors. Their mission was to fulfill the critical needs of emerging Design & Build projects initiated by the Texas Department of Transportation in the mid-2000s. These projects were characterized by demanding schedules, stringent milestones, and aggressive budgets. Amidst this challenging environment, INDUS Road & Bridge quickly built a solid reputation by consistently delivering quality work on time and within budget. This commitment to excellence is reflected in the following milestones:
2013 - Breaking Ground
In its founding year, INDUS Road & Bridge took on its first project, a bridge footing at the LBJ Express project in Dallas, TX, valued at $120,000. This marked their entry into a $3.5 billion investment in North Dallas.
2014 - Straight to the Big Leagues
Just one year later, INDUS Road & Bridge was already tackling significant projects. They were responsible for building mass placement columns, installing precast caps, setting 32 precast beams per night, and pouring decks using two bidwells.
2015 - Most Valuable Subcontractor
Their exceptional work at LBJ Express earned INDUS Road & Bridge the title of Most Valuable Subcontractor.
2016 - Roads for North Texas
New opportunities arose in Amarillo, Rockwall, and Tyler, TX. Additionally, INDUS Road & Bridge secured a $1.5 billion Design & Build project for the I-35E expansion from North Dallas to Denton, TX, in partnership with AGL Constructors (Archer Western, Granite, and Lane)—three of the biggest names in the U.S. construction industry.
2017 - Expanding to the Southeast
INDUS Road & Bridge extended its operations beyond Texas, starting with the I-77 Hot Lanes project in Charlotte, NC. This marked their first venture outside Texas, proving their ability to maintain their standards in new territories. Significant portions of the I-35E project were completed, including the Lake Lewisville Bridge decks, and more projects were awarded, such as the SH360 Express and US-175 in Dallas, TX.
2018 - Expanding Our Reach
INDUS Road & Bridge began new projects in the San Antonio and Houston areas, including the US281 reconstruction in San Antonio, TX, and the SH288 project in Pasadena, TX. Started working on projects for the cities of McKinney, Richardson, and Coppell, TX. Beyond Texas, the company expanded to Fairfax, VA, for a $2.5 billion project on I-66, demonstrating significant growth by operating in all major Texas economic centers and two additional states.
2019 - 2021 Consolidating Our Expansion
INDUS Road & Bridge focused on consolidating its expansion, with major activities in Central Texas, Houston, and Fairfax, VA. This period was marked by solidifying project management capabilities across different environments and collaborating with a diverse range of partners.
2022 - Present Evolution
INDUS Road & Bridge started their first projects as a general contractor for TXDOT, but continuing our services for design & build projects as subcontractor. Our former experience and the new challenges continuously strengthen and develop our team for the future to come.
